HERITAGE OTTAWA

As part of Welcoming Ottawa Week (WOW), June 17 to 30, 2019, the Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership, Heritage Ottawa, City of Ottawa and the Department of Canadian Heritage, have joined together to host a series of guided walks to Chinatown, Little Italy, Byward Market and Vanier.



WOW is an annual, week-long series of fun events designed to convey the genuine welcome and hospitality of Ottawa to newcomers. It provides opportunities for quality interactions among residents, long-term and new.



Funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage, the guided tours are designed to showcase the important contributions immigrants make to the social, cultural, and economic vitality of these neighbourhoods. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the history, food, art, architecture, places of worship, and the myriad of businesses that have flourished thanks to the efforts of successive generations of immigrants and of their descendants.



The tours are offered in English and French.
