HERITAGE OTTAWA

Architectural visionary Phyllis Lambert, widely considered one of the world's most influential figures in architecture, sent a letter to the Committee of Adjustment today asking for its dismissal of the minor variance application for the proposed Château Laurier addition.

Ms. Lambert is a founding member of the Friends of the Château Laurier which, together with Heritage Ottawa, is leading the national advocacy effort to prevent the inappropriate addition to this National Historic Site.

She had previously written to Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson in June of both 2018 and 2019 conveying her concerns over the proposed addition, which she states "makes mockery of the Ontario Heritage Act".
