HERITAGE OTTAWA

Ottawa Architecture Week (OAW) is an annual week-long festival that celebrates architecture, urban planning, art and design in our city. Each year, the festival focuses on a theme relevant to the profession of architecture in the Ottawa–Gatineau community as a whole.

This year's theme examines the tension between Ottawa as a city and Ottawa as a national capital. As a home, Ottawa is a livable city, an economic power and a diverse community. As a national capital, Ottawa is a political centre, a cultural monument and a tourist destination for Canadians and international visitors. These seemingly opposing forces give Ottawa its own character and unique challenges.

This year's event runs from Septebmer 20-26 and features a variety of public exhibits, panel discussions, lectures, workshops, film screenings, tours, and social events.
