HERITAGE OTTAWA

The Ottawa Cultural Alliance (OCA) is a collaboration between six organizations, including Heritage Ottawa, working together to help strengthen and advance Ottawa's cultural sector— a valuable component of our city's creative ecomony and quality of life.

Members of Ottawa's cultural community or related sectors, stakeholders, and interested members of the public are invited to share their ideas by participating in a community-driven Arms-Length Cultural Development Feasibility Study to be implemented over the coming year.

The Study, to be implemented by an independent consultant, will include research on leading practicies from other communities; consultations within the Ottawa cultural community, with community leaders and City cultural and other staff; and recommendations of potential models and/or solutions towards the collective fostering of a cultural sector whose potential can be more fully realized.

The study provides a number of opportunities to help realize our collective potential. You can get involved by:

• Participation in the Study: Get on the study consultation list at ottawaculture.ca to be kept informed about upcoming consulations where your voice can be heard.

• Appointment to the Advisory Committee: Hold a leadership position and help guide the development of the study.  Members will help to ensure community input and engagement through the Study process, provide input into draft recommendations prior to public release, and act as a sounding board on other activities that would strengthen the consulation process.
