HERITAGE OTTAWA
The School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies at Carleton University presents its 12th annual Graduate Student Heritage Conservation Symposium on April 22, 2017.
“Dynamic and Migrating Landscapes: Re-visioning Heritage Conservation” is the theme of this year's event, which promises to examine existing practices and new perspectives while aiming to inspire new models in cultural landscape conservation.
As changes to lands and peoples accelerate, an increasing urgency to consider formerly disregarded identities or unidentified voices results. This year’s Symposium calls for a rethinking of heritage conservation values toward an inclusion of dynamic and migrating lands and peoples. A wide range of interesting speakers will address this year's theme in a series of presentations and dialogues throught the day.
The one-day event takes place at the Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Pre-registration is required. A general admission fee includes lunch and snacks.
