Named for Joseph Hinton, a shopkeeper and civic official, the village of Hintonburg was incorporated in 1893 and annexed to the City of Ottawa in 1907. The tour will include the Bayswater subdivision east of the heart of this interesting, eclectic and socially varied neighbourhood, rich in heritage.
