HERITAGE OTTAWA

The City of Ottawa recognizes outstanding achievements in heritage conservation with the Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards. The application period for the 2014-2016 awards is now open.

“The beautifully preserved properties honoured by the Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards serve an important role: encouraging further investment in their respective communities," said Mayor Jim Watson. "By recognizing these incredible achievements in restoration and conservation, we are reminded of the rich history that exists in Ottawa for residents and visitors alike.”

"The projects honoured at the Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards come from all corners of the city and serve to give our city’s heritage community the profile and attention it deserves," said Councillor Tobi Nussbaum, Chair of the Built Heritage Sub-Committee at the 2012-2014 award ceremony.  "I congratulate all the recipients, and indeed all the nominees, for the commitment they have shown to conserving and preserving Ottawa’s built heritage.”

Awards will be presented in the categories of: Restoration, Adaptive Reuse, Infill, Addition, and Other for projects completed between September 2014 and September 2016.

New this year is the Community Heritage Award in recognition of an individual or group who has had a positive impact on heritage conservation in Ottawa.

Application forms, guidelines and a list of previous award winners are available on the city's website at www.ottawa.ca/oaca .
