Advocacy

Heritage Ottawa promotes the preservation of Ottawa’s distinctive built heritage and cultural landscapes. We speak out for and defend worthy heritage properties that are at risk of inappropriate intervention or loss.

The Billings Estate, the East Block of the Parliament Buildings, and the Aberdeen Pavilion are just some of the properties that have benefitted from Heritage Ottawa's  efforts.

Heritage Ottawa maintains contact with the City of Ottawa Heritage Department and makes regular presentations to the Built Heritage Sub-Committee, the Planning Committee, and other committees at Ottawa City Hall.

Some of Heritage Ottawa's advocacy related activities, including letters and presentations to the City's Built Heritage Sub-Committee, Planning Committee, and Ottawa City Council are available for review on these pages.
