HERITAGE HELPING HOUSING: ACO CALLS FOR NEW GRANT

Heritage Ottawa has written to local Ottawa area MPPs at Queen's Park in support of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario's (ACO) proposal for the creation of a Heritage Helping Housing Building Grant, a matching grant in support of the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings for housing.
The ACO is Ontario’s leading non-governmental organization on built heritage and cultural heritage places.
BOB & MARY ANNE PHILLIPS MEMORIAL LECTURE

Heritage Ottawa was pleased to attend the 2025 Heritage and Urban Design Awards gala ceremony held at City Hall in November. The well-attended event recognized outstanding conservation and design for projects completed between 2023 and 2025.

With the tax filing season close at hand, Heritage Ottawa was pleased to recently offer a webinar on The Tax Benefits When Gifting Securities to Charities. Guest speaker Douglas Lai, ScotiaMcLeod Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor, began his presentation with a helpful Finance 101, in which he stressed how important it is for all investors and donors to have a financial plan that includes philanthropic goals. He referenced various types of charitable gifts, which included public securities, the focus of the webinar.
