The School of Canadian Studies, Carleton University invites submissions from graduate students and heritage professionals for its 11th Annual Graduate Student Heritage Conservation Symposium.

“Not My Heritage” is a one-day student-run symposium exploring the following questions:

  • Whose heritage are we conserving?
  • Whose heritage is being unrepresented or underrepresented in the heritage conservation discourse of the 21st century?

This theme aims to attract submissions that critically address missing identities and voices in the heritage field and/or highlight alternative stories and perspectives in heritage conservation.

The symposium will be held on April 23, 2016.

Submission of a 250-300 word abstract along with working title, contact information and a short bio of 150 words is required by January 15, 2016.
