HERITAGE OTTAWA
The global importance of agricultural research conducted at Ottawa's Central Experimental Farm is being recognized internationally.
A recent program broadcast by BBC Radio on the topic of climate change and its threat to world food supply cited the Central Experimental Farm (CEF) and its climate change related research, including ongoing studies on plant blights and insect control. The CEF is recognized by agricultural research scientists around the world for the vital contribution of its research to global welfare.

As we applaud the Government of Canada for taking a national leadership role in fighting climate change, we trust that leadership will extend to protecting the ongoing viability of the Central Experimental Farm and its critical research that benefits not only all Canadians, but the entire global community.
Heritage Ottawa continues to advocate for the integrity of the Central Experimental Farm, a National Historic Site of Canada and an active scientific research facility of international significance. While we support the construction of a new hospital campus, other viable locations for its construction exist.
