The Heritage Conservation program at the School of Canadian Studies, Carleton University invites the public to attend two upcoming heritage conservation events.
On Friday, March 20 the annual Herb Stovel Memorial Lecture will feature a presentation by Dr. Andrew Herscher of the University of MIchigan entitled Socialist Monuments, Delayed Heritage, and a Commons to Come. The presentation begins at 6:00 pm in Carleton University's Tory Building TB360, with a reception to follow.
This memorial event is presented by the Carleton University School of Canadian Studies and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The lecture is free but space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
On March 28, the annual Heritage Conservation Symposium organized by graduate students in the School of Canadian Studies will be presented at Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts. Entitled Unsettling Heritage: Critical / Creative Conservation, the event will feature a variety of heritage professionals, scholars and other practitioners speaking about critical conservation issues and creative ways to address them. Admission including lunch is $45 or $15 for students. Pre-registration is required.
