Ceremonial Route: Rideau Hall to East Block

One element of the Gréber plan to make Ottawa a modern capital city was the designation of ceremonial routes to Parliament Hill. The principal section would be from Rideau Hall to the East Block of Parliament. It was an invitation to create wide avenues and monumental architecture along the routes.

GUIDE: Richard Belliveau is a retired foreign service officer who worked for many years along the route.
