At last night's meeting of the Board of Directors, Heritage Ottawa member Peter Holdsworth was presented with a special award in appreciation of his outstanding volunteer service to Heritage Ottawa. Peter served as an assistant volunteer Tour Coordinator at all thirteen Walking Tours of the 2014 season, and is currently volunteering his time and talents to prepare spreadsheets and keywords for the entire Heritage Ottawa Newsletter Archive so that all newsletter content will soon be searchable on our new website.

Vice-President David Jeanes and Secretary Bill Price presented Peter with a framed certificate and an original red clay roof tile from a house designed by Werner Ernst Noffke (1897-1964), one of Ottawa's most influential and prolific architects.

The tile was salvaged during the recent restoration of 20 Clemow Avenue, designed by Noffke in 1913 as his personal home. The tile was donated to Heritage Ottawa for presentation purposes by Doug and Cheryl Casey, who received the 2013 Glebe Heritage Restoration Award in recognition of their outstanding heritage restoration of the property.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Heritage Ottawa!

Our warm thanks go to Peter Holdsworth, and to all of our dedicated volunteers who so generously donate their time and talents to make our work and our programs a success.
