Rockcliffe Park East

Sunday, June 9, 2024 - 14:00 to 15:30

SOLD OUT

NEW TOUR: Rockcliffe Park is well known for its stately homes, beautiful trees and gardens. But it also includes many natural elements such as McKay Lake and a surrounding wetland area. The Caldwell-Carver Conservation Area, formerly known as the "Corridor of Public Passage" has a path that follows part of the lakeside complete with two viewing stands overlooking the marshlands, birds and (sometimes) small turtles. You will learn about some of the natural elements of the area and see different views of beautiful McKay Lake created naturally some 9,000 years ago.

GUIDE: Elizabeth Heatherington, longtime resident of Rockcliffe Park, worked as an archaeological researcher at Parks Canada as well as enjoying a career in the Foreign Service.
